Tropical Storm Doris was the fourth tropical cyclone and fourth named storm of the 2011 Biolixi Ocean hurricane season. Doris was a tropical storm that made landfall on the Roanoke coast, causing massive and widespread flooding. Doris is one of the worst tropical storms to hit that area in 15 years; Doris caused 160 million simoleons in damage and caused 15 deaths, 9 are missing.

On June 11 an area of low pressure moved acroos the Biolixi Ocean and towards the Roanoke coast. On June 13 the area of low pressure developed into Tropical Depression Four; Later that day Three intenisfied into Tropical Storm Doris. On June 14 Doris made landfall in Roanoke with maximum minds of 60 mph; Doris then dissipated on June 15 due to high elevation further inland. Doris caused many deaths and produced several floods along the Roanoke coast.

Preparations and ImpactEdit


Preparations for Tropcial Storm Doris weren't very serious do to forecasts that said that Doris would weaken drastically, or that Doris wouldn't become a hurricane before landfall. But prepardness was still need just incase anything were to go wrong; but the number of people helping and suppling medical care were limited. When Doris hit it was a lot different then they though it would be, Doris caused very serious flooding and mudslides across the mountianous coast. this caused 160 million simoleons in damage and 15 deaths with 9 still considered missing or dead.
